New solarZero® subscription service

Bringing their solar subscription service to the Thames Coromandel district, solarZero is committed to helping residents and schools save money while reducing their carbon footprint and becoming more resilient, says Local Territory Manager, Daniel Pereira.

Daniel said solarZero is thrilled to be entering the Coromandel market and looks forward to helping local residents and schools harness the power of the sun to create a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.

The Coromandel is known for its strong sense of fairness and community. At solarZero, we share those values and are committed to helping local residents and schools make a positive impact on the environment while saving money on their power bills.

What the subscription service offers

solarZero’s package offers 20-year product and labour, solar production and savings guarantees which local Coromandel Peninsula customer Bennett Gage-Brown says gave him peace of mind, knowing he had the experts at hand, at any time.

The install was hassle-free and went off without a hitch. Their team was awesome to deal with and were always available to answer any questions I had, both before and after installation.

– Bennet Gage-Brown, Coromandel Peninsula solarZero® customer.

solarZero's monthly subscription provides access to:

  • solar power, battery storage
  • members only grid pricing
  • monitoring
  • repairs
  • replacements and firmware upgrades.

Game-changer after Cyclone Gabrielle

Customer Bennet Gage-Brown said after he joined solarZero last year and he found it to be a game-changer after Cyclone Gabrielle impacted the power grid.

We were very grateful to have made the change to solar when the cyclone hit. It meant we could keep our fridge on and a few home comforts going to make life a bit easier in the days after. I love that I can monitor my energy usage in real time on the website and am constantly impressed by how much energy my panels are generating. It’s great to be producing clean energy and to also have the overflow go back into the grid for the community to draw from.

Real time reporting and affordable subscription pricing

Bennet finds it reassuring to be able to see how much power is in the battery through the mysolarZero website, in real-time. And, he finds that solarZero’s approach to solar made it much more affordable than other solar providers.

I always thought solar required a big upfront fee, but we just pay a monthly subscription and if we need to use more than we generate, we just top it up to cover the draw from the national grid. solarZero is really proactive towards monitoring too which helps keep costs down.

– Bennet Gage-Brown.

Solar helping to reduce peak demand and increase power grid resilience

Local Territory Manager Daniel highlights that the more locals using solar will help reduce peak demand and improve the resilience of the whole power grid.

The Coromandel’s energy needs are constantly growing, driven by new residents moving to the area, more use of electric vehicles and the cost for power just keeps on rising. For every home that’s on solar, that’s one more home not pulling from the already limited local network.

– Daniel Pereira.
