The All About Whitianga follow button is the perfect way to receive a notification when an update is made on a business, event, job or stories area. By simply clicking and connecting to the follow button you choose how often your would like to receive updates, and you’ll never miss out on new information that's added to your favourite pages again!

Follow you favourite pages in four easy steps

If you don’t want to miss a beat with the latest updates, promotions, competitions or stories then ‘following’ a page is a great way to ensure you’re always in the know.

  1. Go to the page you'd like to follow 
  2. Click on the orange follow button 
  3. Sign in and select how often you want notifications
  4. Done – now enjoy receiving your favourite updates! 

What are the advantages of following pages?

By following a page, you’ll be notified when new content is posted or updated on the page. You get to choose how often you’d like to be notified and how, whether that is as soon as a page is updated, a daily update or a weekly update. If your preferences change it's easy to update them. 

The follow button ensures you're always in the loop whether you're wanting to:

  • Seek job opportunities
  • Know about new events or event updates
  • Read the latest stories
  • Be alerted when businesses post -  new menus, images, new services or offerings. 

Here is more information on how to follow a page:

  1. Navigate to the page you wish to follow

    2.  Click on the orange follow button

    3.  You will be prompted to login or sign up. A login is required, as we need your email address to be able to notify you of the page updates

    4.  Click the orange follow button again

    5.  Choose your notification preference (instant/daily/weekly/none) and click follow.

    6.  You’ll see that the button is now grey and says ‘unfollow’.

How do I update my preferences?

Follow these steps to update your notification preferences:

    1.  Navigate to the page you wish to update

    2.  Click on the grey unfollow button

    3.  You will be prompted to login

    4.  Click the grey unfollow button again

    5.  Click to change the frequency you’d like to receive alerts

    6.  Click the grey update preferences button.

How do I ‘unfollow’ a page?

Follow these steps to unfollow a page:

    1.  Navigate to the page you wish to unfollow

    2.  Click on the grey unfollow button

    3.  You will be prompted to login 

    4.  Click the grey unfollow button again

    5.  Click the red ‘unfollow’ button

    6.  You’ll see now that the follow button is now orange and says follow.

What pages should I follow?

Follow pages that are relevant for the information you’d like to know about. Remember, you can unfollow at any time if your needs change. 

For example 

  • If you are on the hunt for a new office type job, follow the job page - ‘Business, Professional & Retail Jobs
  • If you’d like to know about what’s on around the district, follow the events pages
  • Or if it’s local news, follow the Mercury Bay News pages!

So go ahead and get following, you’ll never miss a beat again as you effortlessly stay updated on your favourite pages, from promotions to competitions and everything in between!
