In a press release this week announcing this initiative TCDC acknowledged the generosity of the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) and Business Mentors New Zealand (BMNZ) who will provide 10 free mentorships to deserving businesses in the  Thames-Coromandel district.  Businesses that are accepted into the programme will benefit from 12 months of support from a skilled business mentor passionate about helping businesses overcome challenges and build resilience. A registration for a 12 month mentorship from BMNZ mentors is usually $295+GST.

How the Business Mentor Programme Works

Mentors are carefully selected and matched from Business Mentors New Zealand’s nationwide pool of 1,500 dedicated and experienced business people. They offer everything from:

  • General business advice
  • Technical and specialist knowledge in your business area
  • A Te Ao Māori approach to business.

Business mentors can meet with their mentees regularly online or in person. The programme notes  that whatever your situation, there is likely a business mentor that is appropriate for you and your business.

This is a great opportunity to think deeply about a specific area you need help within your business. My mentor gave me confidence and always brought me back to the bigger picture.

– Faye Saunders - owner of The Little Gallery, Tairua and Whangamata.
