The Coromandel Peninsula will move to Alert Level 2 at 11.59pm on 7th September. The New Zealand Government has announced that all businesses in Level 2 can open with some restrictions, with new requirements being put in place as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 Delta variant.

Government has included some new requirements for businesses operating under Alert Level 2 including:

  • Physical distancing requirements – of 2 metres
  • Use of face coverings – increased requirements
  • Record keeping – including mandatory record keeping for some businesses
  • Workers needing to cross Alert Level boundaries – strictly limited and travel must be permitted with acceptable evidence.

  • Keeping employees and customers safe
  • Physical distancing requirements for customers
  • Face coverings and how this applies to your business (where and when to wear a face covering)
  • Record keeping and contact tracing at your workplace
  • Close contact services (such as hairdressers and home help providers)
  • Going into someone’s home to work
  • Travelling for work (including travel across Alert Level boundaries).
