The Coromandel Peninsula will move to Alert Level 2 at 11.59pm on 7th September. The New Zealand Government has announced that all businesses in Level 2 can open with some restrictions, with new requirements being put in place as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 Delta variant.

Government has included some new requirements for businesses operating under Alert Level 2 including:
- Physical distancing requirements – of 2 metres
- Use of face coverings – increased requirements
- Record keeping – including mandatory record keeping for some businesses
- Workers needing to cross Alert Level boundaries – strictly limited and travel must be permitted with acceptable evidence.
