The Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards organisers have announced the 25 finalists over 10 business and community categories for this years awards.

Mercury Bay businesses and community groups were announced as finalists for the awards and can be viewed below. 

We had fantastic candidates this year which made the judges’ jobs very difficult.

Business category finalists

Businesses entered the business category using an official entry form. Finalists and winners have been decided by a panel of Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards Judges. The finalists are:  

Emerging Business:

  • Coastal Bins
  • Coromandel Lifestyle Centre
  • Valley Profile.

Hospitality: 

  • Gastronomics Restaurant & Bar
  • Two Tides Bakery. 

Manufacturing & Trade: 

  • Coromandel Distilling Company
  • Splinta's Firewood.

​Professional Services:

  • Make Your Day Events
  • Tamariki Station
  • Woof Woof Ranch. ​​

Retail:

  • Coastal Bins
  • Coromandel Lifestyle Centre
  • Re-store Bulk Foods Ltd.​

​Rural & Primary Industries:

  • Splinta's Firewood​.

Tourism:

  • Cathedral Cove Kayaks
  • Historical Maritime Park & Museum Paeroa
  • Wild Wood Mini Golf. 

Public Vote Categories

The finalists in the Public Vote categories were nominated by members of the public in September, and then public voting was open over two weeks in October. There were nearly 6,000 votes for businesses, individuals and community groups that were nominated. The finalists are: 

Community and Not For Profit: 

  • Mercury Bay Cancer Support Trust
  • Te Whariki Manawahine O Hauraki: Hauraki Women's Refuge
  • Turua Animal Rescue​. 

Service to Business:

In this category the entrants were nominated by the public and the Awards Judges will make the final decision on the winners. 

  • Jo Tilsley
  • Jocelyn and Stuart Read.  

People's Choice Award: 

  • Maddcutzz
  • Sassy Sadie
  • Woof Woof Ranch.

Gala Evening to celebrate award winners

The winners will be announced at a gala evening on Thursday, October 28, at The Grand Mercure Puka Park.
