A whole lot of family fun this summer

Missy and Master Whitianga
December 30th – 4pm

‘Missy & Master Whitianga’ will be held on Buffalo Beach reserve (please note change of venue from the Esplanade). There will be some great prizes up for grabs.

Little Missys and Masters aged from 3 to 12 years are invited to enter on the day. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start time to register your interest.

Mini Olympics
January 2nd – 12-2pm

The ‘Mini Olympics’ is good old-fashioned fun with prizes and giveaways for the whole family. Get practicing with those eggs and spoons, sacks races and three-legged races. Bring the family down to Buffalo Beach at the Esplanade end.

Family Beach Dig Whitianga
January 4th – 3-5pm

No spades allowed for the ‘Family Beach Dig’, just bring the kids to dig up some great prizes at the Esplanade end of Buffalo Beach.

Paddle & Picnic
January 9th – from 3pm

Make sure you register on the day from 3pm to enter the paddling event. Grab your SUP or kayak and paddle a 2km or 4km loop in the shelter of the Whitianga Waterways.
The family can enjoy the Mini Olympics activities, live music, free hamburgers, spot prizes and paddle racing while picnicking at the Waterways Beach (by the Mobil Service Station, Rewiti Road off Joan Gaskell). So bring along your picnic blanket, deck chairs, food and drink (no alcohol please) for a fun afternoon!

The event starts at 3pm with the More FM Mini Olympics (fun old school games for young kids), followed at 4pm with a Kayak and Stand Up Paddle Board race around an island in the Whitianga Waterways (one or two laps) The event is free, but there is a $10 fee for anyone wanting to do the paddle race. There are also free burgers and live music on offer so come join us for a fun afternoon.
