This year Easter falls a week before the start of the school holidays. It could prove to make things busy on the roads, so do check the roading status before heading off with a car full of children.

Easter is often a time for gardening, so why not hop along to the Chops Landscaping Plant Nursery Pop-up shop to stock up on natives and sup-tropical plants.

Easter Saturday the Cooks Beach Volunteer Fire Brigade are holding an open day to keep you entertained. Sunday will see the last Coroglen Farmers Market for the season, it'll be your last chance to grab local produce and wares. There are also markets in Whitianga and Matarangi this weekend.

The school holidays sees the return of the famous Mercury Bay Day Camp, where children converge on a Cooks Beach farm and enjoy numerous outdoor activities such as archery, campfire cooking, mudslide, kayaking and a confidence course just to name a  few.
