Beach Hop is celebrating 21 years of being on the Coromandel Peninsula and the Thames has been included as part of the full Repco Beach Hop event programme. The vibe of the 50's and 60's is planned at the event and hundreds of cars are expected to cruise into Thames township for the day.
Repco Beach Hop visiting Thames in 2021
Classic cars will line the historical main street of Thames as the cars cruise from Whangamata. More cars can be seen on the day from an area in Queen Street for those registered in the Beach Hop, but not taking part in the 'Cruise'.
Thames promises to put on a great day with not only cars, but five areas of live entertainment among the restaurants, cafes, bars and shops along the street. Gastronomics Restaurant Cafe & Bar are giving away an amazing $1000 in a prize draw for official Repco Power Cruise entrants. This will take place at the 2pm prize giving along with the presentation of other trophies and prizes!
Having the Beach Hop cars in Thames opens this event to a whole new audience in Paeroa, Ngatea, Hamilton and even Auckland, and COVID permitting, will bring thousands of people to town for the day, looking at the vehicles, browsing the shops and eating at our cafes.
