Hi Nick and Hollie,

 Ann and myself thought that it was about time we thanked you for building our house, which we love. We have now been living in our new home for five months and so far have found no faults to be fixed and rectified, this shows that the build was carried out with care and to a very high standard. It is almost a year since we first met you on site and talked about the build, which was completed on time this we find amazing especially with all the little tweaks we made.

Ann and myself would have no hesitation in recommending you or providing any references and consider that we were very lucky in having someone who was so understanding and caring which made what is usually a stressful process so easy.

Your patience amazes me, the daily emails from Ann and also phone calls from us with the tweaks to the plans would have driven me mad, however you made our want's and dreams happen, your understanding and guidance will always be appreciated by us. We should also put on record how tidy you kept the site, this has made our landscaping so much easier compared to other newly built properties we have lived in.

We would also appreciate it if you would pass on our sincere thanks to all the guys that worked on the build, we have met some of them from our site visits, what a great bunch of lads you employ, very friendly and hard working, this must come from you, leadership is a skill, this you have in abundance and rubs off on you workforce and shows in the quality of the finish.

Renovating a house within a short timeframe can be challenging, add to that the home owner was based in the UK and the co-ordinator, bill payer, administrator and  interior designer and NZ decision maker was based in Hamilton and had other full time commitments, this project was looking for problems.
 

Nick Gill and his team at Cove Construction were clear and informative with all suggestions, questions and answers; nothing was too much to ask. Decisions and changes were a team effort, ensuring both quality and clients expectations were delivered. 
 

Telecommunication was outstanding, requiring only 4 site visits from Hamilton. Cove Constructions team where always available for co-ordination of product delivery etc and went beyond the scope of the job.

Cove’s communication with the local subcontractors was outstanding and ensured that we all knew what was expected from each other .Their attention to detail delivered a product that exceeded all expectations, on a very tight timeframe and much to the owners delight.  

Would happily do it all again. 

We recently undertook a renovation project of our little piece of paradise in Whitianga. We wanted a builder who would understand the sentiment required for a build of this nature and treat the project as if it was their own home.

Nick from Cove Construction was able to marry the old house and the new addition so well that the result is a seamless transition, thus fulfilling our expectations.

He not only directed his building team well, but kept the associated trades integrated and up to date with the well planned construction schedule. Logistically the project was managed very well.

Any addition undertaken brings extra challenges and unforeseen problems. As soon as these arose we would discuss them and arrive at an amicably agreed solution so as to not interfere with the building progress.

Detailing was to play an important part in the overall concept required. Nick was very receptive to working along side us through the requests for specific detail and it has certainly made the difference.

After possession date which was 4 days before Christmas and after a well deserved break for him and his team, Nick continued to keep in touch to ensure that everything was in good working order and as we wanted it to be after living in the home for a couple of weeks. This was extremely comforting.

We have no hesitation in recommending Nick from Cove to any of our contacts. If we were to approach another project we would most certainly use Nick again.

When Barbara and I decided to extend and renovate our Matarangi property we looked around for local builders and found Nick’s crew from Cove working a couple of streets away and invited Nick to quote. Nick presented well, his crew seemed friendly, he was local and importantly his quote was competitive and we decided to give Cove the job.

The job was started on time and throughout the process Nick not only kept us fully informed but offered money saving suggestions and made all those “after thought” changes without any fuss and with a transparent pricing process. His crew were always cheerful and friendly and nothing was any trouble.

We have been through the same process with our Auckland home and can honestly say that we wish Cove had been around in those days and working in Auckland.

We were delighted when our project manager advised us that he had selected Cove Construction to build our dream beach house in Kuaotunu. During the tender process we had been invited up to Nick Gill’s home to meet his young family, discuss the project and obtain references from other houses he had built. 

We were very impressed from the start and were confident that he and his team would have the requisite skills to handle the task. Being an architect designed house with several unique features, the construction work involved some complex and technically challenging work which Cove Construction executed with perfection. 

All members of the team were friendly and professional and displayed a very strong work ethic – arriving promptly every day at 7.30am and never once letting us down. The project lasted for 7 months between March and October 2012 with the team working through some very testing weather conditions until the house was made weathertight. 

We were based in Auckland during the construction period but kept in regular contact throughout to openly discuss any matters of concern requiring our input. Nick is not just a fine builder and craftsman; he is also a natural leader with strong business acumen – the perfect combination of competences required to ensure that your home or building project will be finished on time, to budget and to the very highest quality.
