The Aon Whitianga Marathon announces its 2022 event date

If you’re looking for a fun, mainly flat, coastal course with stunning views based in the heart of the Coromandel Peninsula, then the Aon Whitianga Marathon is the event for you! This event has something for everyone ranging from a 5km fun run right up to the premier 42km marathon.

Comments from runners from this year’s event were that they were blown away with the support from the local course marshals and aid stations crews – it was like the whole town was hosting the event.

Scenic waterside runners or walkers course

The waterside course is largely flat and features stunning views of Mercury Bay including Buffalo Beach, Cooks Beach and the surrounding Coromandel Ranges.

There is a distance to suit everyone ranging from the 5km, 10km distances or the longer half marathon or full marathon event. The race can be undertaken at your own individual pace and event organisers look forward to welcoming both walkers and runners to the 2022 event.
