After being forced to postpone their New Zealand tour last year, the band is back and ready to give their Kiwi fans an unforgettable experience as part of their farewell world tour. The performance is supported by excellent local acts, and is certain to be a celebration of a band that has left such a memorable mark on the alternative rock scene.
The Coroglen Tavern Lineup
While Sublime with Rome will be the key act, there are ever popular supporting acts that will be part the energy for this special gig. Popular reggae band Flaxxies, will bring their infectious grooves to the stage, setting the perfect tone for the night. Joining them are local talents Beccie B and Corrosive Moses, who will provide a diverse mix of sounds ranging from soulful melodies to high-energy rock.
This warm-up event will not only celebrate the rich musical culture of New Zealand but also serve as a final tribute to Sublime with Rome’s incredible journey. Fans can expect a dynamic evening filled with performances to groove to and a nostalgic look back at the band’s greatest hits.
Sublime with Rome: A Legacy of Sound
For more than a decade, Sublime with Rome has attracted audiences with their signature fusion of reggae, punk rock, and alternative rock. Formed in 2009, the band represents the next chapter in the legacy of the legendary ‘90s group Sublime, after the tragic passing of lead singer Bradley Nowell in 1996. Fronted by Rome Ramirez, who teamed up with original Sublime bassist Eric Wilson, the band has continued to honor Sublime's music while also creating their own unique sound. Over the years, they’ve produced hits such as "Panic", "Take It or Leave It", and the popular cover of "Rivers of Babylon".
Sublime with Rome’s music resonates deeply with fans of all generations, combining laid-back, beach-ready vibes with energetic punk rock rhythms. Their upcoming New Zealand shows mark the final leg of their farewell tour, making this the last opportunity for fans to experience the band live. Rome Ramirez recently shared his excitement for the tour, stating, “We cannot wait to come down under and play our final shows with Sublime with Rome this summer. New Zealand will officially be our last tour, so make sure you come out and sing with us one last time.”
The Final Shows: A Farewell to Remember
As part of their last-ever tour, Sublime with Rome will play across New Zealand, starting with the Coro Classic Music Festival Warm-Up at Coroglen on December 30. Following that, they’ll ring in the New Year at Brew Year’s Eve in Upper Hutt on December 31, and kick off 2025 with concerts at Black Barn in Havelock North on January 2 and Bay Park Arena in Mount Maunganui on January 3. Supporting them at these shows will be New Zealand favorites, including the band Elemeno P, ensuring each night is a unique celebration.
