A Taste of Matarangi success in 2024

Take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary success of A Taste of Matarangi 2024. With attendance numbers surpassing 2000, the community came together in a remarkable display of support.

This year, A Taste of Matarangi not only entertained and inspired but also made a tangible difference in the lives of many. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, the committee are thrilled to announce that their charitable partners received substantial donations totalling $25,000.00.

These funds raised will go directly towards supporting vital initiatives in our community: Education, Emergency & Environment.

The largest portions of $10,000 each will be donated to the two main recipients Kuaotunu Search & Rescue & Te Rerenga school. These organisations play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being and education of community members, and A Taste of Matarangi are proud to offer support to their individual efforts.

Additionally, $5000.00 will be allocated to the following groups:

  • Coromandel Rescue Helicopter trust with $3000 earmarked to bolster their life-saving operations.
  • A further $1000 will be contributed to the Kuaotunu Kiwi Sanctuary Trust, aiding in their vital conservation efforts to protect our native wildlife.
  • A final contribution of $1000 is dedicated to the Te Rerenga school Kapa Haka students towards providing uniforms, empowering these talented individuals to showcase their cultural heritage with pride and dignity.

The A Taste of Matarangi Committee extend their deepest gratitude to all that contributed and reaffirm their commitment to making a difference where it matters most.

A Taste of Matarangi 10th Anniversary

Looking ahead, the organising committee are excited to announce that A Taste of Matarangi will return in 2025 to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Mark your calendars for the 5th April, as they prepare to commemorate a decade of joy, unity and giving back. It promises to be an unforgettable milestone, filled with more entertainment and shared moments of connection.

The success of A Taste of Matarangi wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and hard work of our committee members. As we gear up for our milestone anniversary, we invite individuals passionate about community involvement to join our committee.  Whether you bring expertise in event planning, fundraising or simply a desire to make a difference, we welcome your enthusiasm and ideas.
