Queen’s Birthday trivia

  • Did you know that the Queen’s Birthday is actually in April? However, the UK has a tradition that if the Monarch’s birthday doesn’t fall during their summer months (our winter), then the monarch is allowed another birthday! It is also traditional to hold the ‘Trooping the Colour’ parade on the Queen’s birthday and the chances of a fine day for this are higher in the summer.
  • Did you know that both Queen Elizabeth’s were 25 years old at their coronations? Queen Elizabeth II’s was the first to be televised.
  • Apparently, the Queen carries Throat lozenges, a pen, glasses and a portable bag hook in her handbag!
