The Trust was formed in 2008 with the aim of offering support for the health and wellbeing of people in the Mercury Bay community with medical conditions and disabilities. Since its formation access to healthcare, information and support in the Mercury Bay Area have improved immeasurably.

Age and infirmity caught up with the committee and with no younger members coming through closure now is timely. The committee would like to acknowledge the past and present caring committee who worked for the support and enjoyment of members.

Mercury Bay Health Support Trust Secretary, Karen Miles

The History of the Mercury Bay Health Support Trust

The Mercury Bay Health Support Trust was originally established in 2001 to assist people in the Whitianga Community with diabetes.

In 2008 the group was incorporated under the Charities Commission Act to include wider health support within its mandate. It was then funded and managed by a Board of Trustees.

When the group became incorporated it catered for those in the community with or without a medical condition. Offering support and promotion of the well being for its members.
