Whitianga resident Alana Baker has this year again partnered with Whitianga Social Services to make a difference to Mercury Bay children this winter. Members of the public can donate new winter jackets and gumboots which will be gifted to families in need.

Last year local Bayley’s real estate agent Alana held a successful Pyjama Drive and coordinated the donation of pyjamas for Mercury Bay families in need.
In 2021 we had a total of 133 jarmies donated! A fantastic outcome given we had a COVID-19 lockdown in the middle of it as well. This year I am looking to repeat that success with the jackets and gumboots drive and ask our local community to once again get behind this initiative helping our families needing this support the most.

Alana is no stranger to fundraising for great causes. Along with the Jacket and Gumboot drive, she also has another Pink Ribbon event on her radar coming soon for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
How to donate new Jackets and Gumboots
Donations of winter jackets and gumboots in all sizes, from toddler to teen in both girls and boys styles are being called for.
Donations will be collected at Bayleys Whitianga and can be dropped off in person, or alternatively online orders sent to the same address to Alana at Bayleys Whitianga, 7 The Esplanade, Whitianga by 31st May 2022.
Other items for families in need
This year Alana is only focussing on new jackets and gumboots rather than other items or second had items. Second hand items are gratefully accepted at the local Whitianga Op Shops.
