Girls fun night out for a great cause

CD Updated
People in movie theatre watching movie

For those in the know, the Magic Mike movies are pretty hot stuff with actor, Channing Tatum strutting his stuff. But imagine a fun night out watching the latest instalment, Magic Mike’s Last Dance, and knowing you are supporting Project Mammogram in the process. Twin Cinemas in Whitianga is inviting fun-loving ‘girls’ to dress up and come have a good time at its premier screening of Magic Mike’s Last Dance on February 9.

Magic Mike Fundraising premier

On February 9 Twin Cinemas in Whitianga is holding a premier night for Magic Mike’s Last Dance with exclusive $20 ticket packages offering the entry fee plus a glass of bubbly or juice or medium popcorn and from each ticket sold $10 will go to Project Mammogram. Select your favourite seat for another $5 and that will go to the Project too; all while you and your friends have a great night out.

At intermission, you could win a gorgeous treat supplied by Cathedral Cove Macadamias, Devonport Chocolates or Mercury Bay Pharmacy in the ‘lucky seat’ giveaway, and there’s a raffle for someone to win a family pass to the movies including snacks, with all proceeds going to the Project.

Continuing Support for Project Mammogram

After the premier night, $5 from every ticket sold for Magic Mike’s Last Dance will be donated to Project Mammogram for the duration of the movie run, and on Valentine’s Day there will be another lucky seat giveaway of goodies for those attending.

So why not buy the love of your life a ticket as an early Valentine’s Day gift or simply pop in to Twin Cinemas to make a donation towards this very important fundraiser.

Twin Cinemas owners Anne-Maree and Matt McDougall say they value how the community pulls together to provide essential services, and as a business, they want to help with their support.

I’m personally of an age that I need mammograms and I missed my last one here because I just wasn’t able to get to the mobile unit at the time. But I’m a mum of three children and we have benefited hugely by being able to get x-rays in town, which is the other project that Lions have done.

We need these facilities for our town and wider community. What we know is, we have to help ourselves, we need these things and our community is amazing at being able to sort ourselves out. Matt and I just wanted to help with part of that.

It’s awesome to see how the tally for Project Mammogram is growing so quickly, it’s just great and it’s a testament to how great our community is. When they put their kind, caring hearts on, look at what they achieve.

Anne-Maree McDougall – Mercury Twin Cinemas Owner

We definitely need the mammogram facility in Whitianga just for the share convenience to allow people to be able to get that very important service done locally rather than having to travel an hour over the hill. This is important to our community, so we’re very supportive of initiatives like Project Mammogram.

Jillian Johnston – Cathedral Cove Macadamias

Both theatres will screen the movie on the premier night with a limited 136 seats, Seats are selling well, with only about 20 left.

“This is an escapist, chick flick and an absolute ladies guilty pleasure movie but of course you’re not coming to watch Channing Tatum, you’re coming because you are donating to a really good cause! It would be great to sell-out on opening night as that is the best donation bang for Project Mammogram,” says Anne-Maree.

How to get tickets
