Whitianga e-Waste Drive

Start gathering up all those small old and unwanted used electrical items and bring them down to the Whitianga e-waste drive at the Whiti Citi Market this Labour weekend.

When and where?

See our stall at the Whitianga Market on Saturday at Soldiers Memorial Park.

Tell your friends and family!

What can I bring to the e-waste drive?

We are collecting hand held devices - that means anything electrical which you hold in your hand to operate (like a cellphone) rather than a free-standing device (like a TV or computer).

The golden rule for the golden coin is, the device should be no bigger than a shoe box. This includes items like - hairdryers, playstation controls, hand drills laptops, cords, chargers etc. there will be more details on our Facebook page.

Wāhi Tukurua (Mercury Bay Resource Recovery Centre) will open in March 2023, providing ample space and storage for the next full e-Waste Drive in May 2023.  If you can’t wait until then, the team at the Whitianga Market stall can receive larger items for a $5 per item fee, with the proviso that you must carry it to the stall.

Come along and find out more

There will be plenty to see at the Whitianga Market stall, with education material and a raffle.  So come along and find out more about the plans, progress and volunteering opportunities. All funds raised will go towards setup and promotion of Wāhi Tukurua /Mercury Bay Resource Recovery Centre.

Funding is provided for the e-Waste Drives from Thames-Coromandel District Council (TCDC) out of their Waste Minimisation Fund. We would like to thank them for their financial and promotional support.
