Artists open studios
Over 50 local artists are opening their studios again to the public this March as part of the Mercury Bay Art Escape. All are welcome to visit over the two weekends in March to enjoy meeting, see work in progress and even purchase pieces of artwork.
With two art groups and seven new members this year, there is a brilliant mix of artists including:
- potters
- sculptors
- painters
- printmakers
- photographers
- flax weavers
- woodworkers
- mosaic artists
- jewellers
- a glass artist
- and a furniture maker.
From Tairua to Rings Beach, grab a map and enjoy FREE entry to studios from 10am-4pm each weekend, 6 &7, 13 & 14 March and 3 & 4 April 2021. Look out for the official blue Art Escape flags along the way.

COVID 19 Contact tracing for open studios
All open studios and Art Escape venues will operated under Covid alert level 1 and 2, they will be displaying a QR code or have a manual register for contact tracing. Please make sure that you scan or sign in when you visit an Art Escape location. Physical distancing and use of hand sanitiser is also recommended.
