Mercury Bay Historical Society

Historical Society members are part of the wider museum family and their support enables the museum to flourish and grow. Our responsibility is to collect, record and preserve history. The club has committee meetings and regular excursions to interesting heritage site around the Mercury Bay Area and further afield.

Mercury Historical Society Background

In the early 1970's the Mercury Bay Historical Society was formed. together with the Mercury Bay Lions and support from many local people 55,000 pounds was raised and the Mercury Bay Dairy factory was purchased for our museum building.
