Our Vision

The Mercury Bay Art Escape Trust is committed to:

Fulfilling our Mission through professionalism, astute organisation and a passion for the visual arts in all its disciplines.

Fostering the development of artists in Mercury Bay and the Coromandel Peninsula through educational and scholarship programmes, exhibitions, open studio tours and community events, with particular emphasis on:

1. Development of professionalism in artistic students in local schools
2. Provide educational and development opportunities for adult and emerging artists
3. Promotion of artists and their works through exhibitions, including our Showcase Exhibition and through collaborations with cafes, vineyards, galleries and other commercial locations in New Zealand.
4. The development of a new peninsula wide information source for the arts based in Whitianga in collaboration with other art and cultural groups
5. The establishment of an art tour encompassing the whole of the Coromandel Peninsula.
6. Promote Mercury Bay and the Coromandel Peninsula as a unique artistic and tourism area of New Zealand.

The Mercury Bay Art Escape Trust aims to work diligently to make art lovers and art buyers from throughout New Zealand aware of the richness, quality and eclectic character of the Coromandel Peninsula's Mercury Bay area art scene.
