Open Fishing Tournament in Whitianga

The Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club is hosting the 9th Annual Tristram Marine Open Fishing Tournament. Commencing the 19th February, choose to fish as many days as you wish until the 26th February. 

This tournament will automatically enter you into the Nationals and will be paid for by the MBGFC if you are a member. 

Sections for everyone!

  • Open Section (by weight) – Black/Blue/Striped Marlin, Broadbill, Shortbill Spearfish, Tuna, Albacore, Skipjack, Mahimahi, Kingfish, Snapper, Kahawai, Trevally
  • Light Section (4-10kg on points) – Tuna, Snapper, Kingfish,Kahawai, Travally
  • Ultralight Section (1-3kg on Points) – Tuna, Snapper, Kahawai, Trevally

Prizes also for every tagged and released Marlin!
