Fishing Competition in Whitianga, Mercury Bay

The annual Surtees Fishing Competition will this year be run again from the Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club in the Mercury Bay. This popular competition will be run over two days in February. 

There will be two full days fishing on Friday and Saturday, to be followed by a Prize giving on Saturday night.

For 18 years, the Surtees Annual Fishing Competition has brought proud Surtees owners together for an exciting weekend of fishing and fun. The 2023 comp will once again take place in beautiful Whitianga and we are stoked to have you around and participating in our competition! We are happy to continue to support our fisheries, and all fish remain “measure and release” so we will leave it up to you whether you take your fish home or give him another few happy years in the ocean.
