It’s Matariki Stargazing time again! Climb out of bed early to celebrate in Kuaotunu on the Coromandel Peninsula by watching Matariki rise in the dark sky over Kūaotunu with a group of expert stargazers.

Enjoy meteorites and Mars bars, along with warming coffee and a barbecue.

  • 5am - 7am,  10 July - Kuaotunu Domain by the tennis courts. 

With commentary from local night sky guides, you can observe planets and stars through large astronomical telescopes and binoculars, and learn more about the Dark Sky project.
