2026 prize list is displayed on the official Kubota Billfish Classic facebook page. Please note any prizes detailed in this event listing could be subject to change and will be confirmed with participants by the event organiser.
On October 20, 2025 the organisers announced details for 2026 as follows: jackpot options for champion teams (top 3 in each pot) with maximum potential of more than $1.5 million purse.
The usual daily billfish jackpot with maximum potential of more than $250,000 purse.
As an example in 2025 there was a total of $1.7 million dollars worth of prizes including:
- Heaviest Billfish $400,000
- Gate Prize The Ultimate Kubota Package valued at $125,000
- Jackpot options for Champion Team 1st, 2nd and 3rd with a maximum potential purse of $1,575,000
- JC Walker Transport Last Billfish Tagged $20,000
- Jimmy Buffit Heaviest Tuna $20,000
- Float Mortgages Heaviest Mahimahi $10,000
- GCM Feeds Heaviest Kingfish $10,000
- Total Access Champion Lady Angler $10,000
- Vernon Developments Champion Junior Angler $10,000 (Under 18 years old on March 15, 2025).

Event History
In 2025 this event was officially the Largest Billfish Tournament ever to be held in the World (surpassing the previous world record of the 2005 White Marlin Open held in Ocean City, Maryland, USA with 449 boats).
$1.7 million dollars worth of prizes.
470 boats Entered.
2025 entries were sold out in 9 months ago.
Tournament Director Tom Maxwell expected to see $9-10 million cash injection into the Mercury Bay economy over a 1-2 week period during the 2025 event.
