Caring for the Coast of Whangapoua
Working in partnership with the local community, iwi, Department of Conservation and Councils, Coastcare Waikato are working together to protect our precious coastline in the Mercury Bay.
There are working bees and plantings through out the year.
Keen to help?
Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to join in and help restore the Whangapoua coast and don't mind a bit of gardening, a chat while you work and fresh air, then bring along your favourite little spade or gardening tools and gloves, water bottle and hat and sunscreen. Join the team and help restore the Playground / Firestation Dune area and the Punga Punga Island reserve.
There will be a sausage sizzle by the shops to celebrate the event!
