Anzac Day Dawn Service in Whitianga

The ANZAC day dawn service in Whitianga will be held at Soldiers Memorial Park at 6am.  

All are welcome to attend this ANZAC day dawn service in Whitianga and are invited back to the Mercury Bay Club for breakfast (please note there is a charge for breakfast).  The service will take place rain or shine.

Participating in the Whitianga parade

  • All descendants of returned service personnel are welcome to participate in the parades.
  • Members of the public who are direct descendants of deceased Returned Service Persons are invited to wear their Service Medals. 
  • Returned service personnel are asked to wear their medals and decorations.
  • Associations or Organisations who would like to join the March from Mercury Bay Club car park to Soldiers Memorial Park assembly time at 5.15am - 5.30am Parade to form up as directed -  5.45am Parade marches to Soldiers Memorial Park
  • The Parade Marshall is Mike Carter.

Laying of wreaths in Whitianga

If you would like to lay a wreath at the dawn service please contact Trevor Fraser (ph. 07 866 0225) prior to the event so he will arrange your participation.  (to ensure you are on the roll call for wreaths).

Getting to the Whitianga dawn service by Ferry

An early Ferry has been arranged to leave Ferry Landing at 5.15am, 5.30am and 5.45am. 

Poppies available in Whitianga

Poppies will be available at the Mercury Bay Club and at sites in town from the 12th April.
