We’re looking for a motivated experienced Marine Technician or Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. Our varied workload includes vessel repowers, new engine commissions, servicing and repairs for both commercial and recreational customers.

Based out of our well-equipped modern 4 bay workshop, our team of technicians is supported by a workshop foreman and parts department, enabling you to focus on what you do best.

 

As authorised dealers for Volvo Penta, Cummins, Honda Marine and Suzuki Marine and the New Zealand representative for Alamarin Jet, our varied workload includes vessel repowers, new engine commissions, servicing and repairs for both commercial and recreational customers. Whitianga boasts a top-class marina and extensive residential canal system for launches, fishing and tourism vessels, and many trailer boats.

 

The Role:

We’re looking for a motivated experienced Marine Technician or Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. We offer a varied workload, including the following:

  • Accurate fault diagnostics and repairs of marine engines (inboard and outboard)
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing (outboards, inboards, jet units, stern drives)
  • Install and troubleshoot marine electronics and systems
  • Conduct sea trials and safety checks
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a marine technician or diesel mechanic
    • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the marine industry
  • Electrical and diagnostic skills in 12V and 24V systems is advantageous
  • Certification in 240V systems would be desirable
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
  • A team player with a can-do attitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • NZ residency or a valid work visa
  • Must have a full class 1 driving license and be comfortable performing duties both in the workshop and on customers vessels situated around the Coromandel Peninsula
