Kuaotunu Search & Rescue

Kuaotunu Search & Rescue is a committed group of volunteers who operate search and rescue operations in the Mercury Bay and Northern Coromandel areas. The group covers an extensive area from the northern Coromandel Peninsula from the summit of the Tairua Hill across to Te Kouma to Cape Colville at the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. Members of the group also assist other search and rescue groups in the Coromandel Peninsula, greater Waikato and Auckland districts.

Kuaotunu Search and Rescue is available to assist the Coast Guard, Rural Fire Force, Civil Defence and other emergency services as required.
