What is Pickleball?
A sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis for two or four players.
One of the fastest growing sports in America, Australia, Europe and now New Zealand!
Pickleball was created with one thing in mind...fun!!! It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five, ninety-five or somewhere in between.
Where to play Pickleball
Matarangi
Pickleball is played at the Matai Place Reserve where there are 2 permanent pickleball courts and 2 extra courts with portable nets (used as required). Summer Hrs-Thurs 5-7pm, Sat 9-11am. Contact Grant 0223836351.The courts are free to use.
Hahei
Hahei Tennis & Pickleball Club Thurs & Sunday, Contact Tim 0278432683 or refer their facebook page.
Mercury Bay Multi Sports Park, Moewai Rd
4 permanent Pickleball courts plus 2 courts marked out on 2 tennis courts (total 6) – free to use, supply own gear.
Outdoor Sessions-weather dependant & advised per our facebook page.
Mercury Bay Area School – gymnasium
- Every Tuesday Members Night 5.30-7.30pm
- Sundays 3.00-6.00pm- Open to New players (Training & equipment provided, first session free) and all members and visitors. $5 per session.
- Must wear non marking inside sport shoes.
