School Holiday Programme in Whitianga

The Thames Coromandel District Library in Whitianga has fun craft and animal activities over the holidays.

School Holidays activities at the Library will begin on Tuesday 16th April. All sessions are free – no booking required just arrive at 10am. Check the brochure in case there’s something we suggest you bring along.

As always during the school holidays, the block pit will be out and there’s always something to do on the activity table if you visit outside the session time.

Can you dig it?

Join Mercury Bay Library and Mercury Bay Museum as we learn to excavate, sift, sort and recreate like an archaeologist.

Archaeologists learn a lot from pottery fragments found in sites. Shape, material and decoration can reveal a vessels construction, function and age! Join us to ‘dig up’ a pot and see if you can recreate it and learn what it was used for.

You will also be able to create your own pot to take home.

⏰ Tuesday 30th April and Thursday 2nd May, at 3:30pm
