Rangihau Ranch is situated in the hills of Coroglen and is an owner operated beef and sheep farm with a kiwifruit orchard, farm stay cottage and horse-trekking business. We are open all year, weather permitting.
Rangihau Ranch has some of the best horse-riding on offer. Our horse treks and horse rides are all guided by experienced family members and each ride is carefully tailored with horses to suit their riders experience.
The riding tracks are varied taking in rolling farmland, native bush and into the Coromandel Ranges for some really fantastic views across the Peninsula. Our riding is not all nose-to-tail and we are happy for riders who have experience to have some freedom and get the wind in their hair! Treks need to be booked in advance and can be done so by email or phone. We cater for school and tour groups by arrangement. Safety helmets are supplied, please wear suitable clothing eg long pants and covered footwear.
Riding is weather dependent and treks will be cancelled if necessary. Payment can be made either in cash, visa or eftpos.

The area is full of history from the Kauri logging, gum diggers and gold-mining days of the 1800's. Some of the riding tracks are the old pack-horse tracks from the old days. The farm is a working beef and sheep farm with a kiwifruit orchard and a self-catering cottage to rent for a farm stay experience.
A peaceful location for those wanting a rural getaway and a central location for exploring the Coromandel Peninsula. We are 15 minutes drive out to Hot-water beach, Hahei, Cathedral cove etc. Our 'local', the Coroglen Tavern' is five minutes drive from the farm. We offer a summer Day Camp over the school holidays where children can spend a fun day on the farm with a pony to suit. They will learn horse care and riding skills, meet new friends, picnic in the bush, play games and swim in the river all under the care of Shannon who is trained in Outdoor Education.
