This years music programme offers a fantastic line up of four popular New Zealand music acts including The Monroes, Lock & Load, Loou'ana Whitney and Crimson Coast.
Festival organisers recommend that you come to the festival ready to groove. Also bring an empty stomach so you can sample everything from the fabulous food stalls! The festival programme runs from 10am until 4.30pm and includes live performances from the talented bands who will get you up and dancing on the Village Green.
Artists Performing At A Taste Of Matarangi
As the headlining act for A Taste of Matarangi The Monroes will bring their international experience and band chemistry to the stage with passion. The Monroes’ are proud to have both female and male vocals giving them true versatility that covers many styles of music, but it’s the stage show that the band are most proud of. Energy, Excitement, Entertainment. From Rock ‘n’ Roll, to Disco, Funk, 80’s classics and modern favourites the Monroes provide the energy and excitement that will keep you on your feet dancing.
Lock & Load
Guitar and drums duo ‘Lock & Load’ from Tauranga are set to make a return and bring festival goers to their feet once again. The popular upbeat duo will be performing hits from days gone by to favourite playlists and singalongs we all know. Drummer Nick Ririnui says “I can’t wait for Pete Ormsby (guitar) and myself to come and share our love for music at the festival, it’s going to be a blast.”
A jazz-soul-funk vocalist with a distinct unique style and sound. She gigs regularly around the country in a variety of projects including Two Many Chiefs and Hipstamatics. Lou’ana’s repertoire is an eclectic set infused with jazz, soul, blues and funk. Always a captivating performance
A band of experienced Coromandel musicians who play their own original kiwi music. Genres range from country rock, pop, reggae to blues that keeps them growing as musicians and is fun for audiences. Lance Strong (guitar/vocals), Ava Strong (drums/vocals), Ray Simpkin (lead guitar/vocals), Paul Matthews (bass/vocals) and Kelly Peihopa (vocals/percussion). Crimson Coast performs regularly at many local music festivals and is looking forward to performing for the first time at the A Taste of Matarangi festival.

We are really excited to be able to bring A Taste of Matarangi Festival back to Matarangi again this year. The festival has been a favourite event for friends and family, young and old to attend and each year it just gets better and better. Kuaotunu Land Search and Rescue (KSAR) will be the major charity to benefit from the festival.
