Buffalo Beach Sand Dunes
Our sand dunes and the grasses and shrubs that hold them together are critical components of our beach defence system and ecology.  The plants trap and deposit sand, thereby stabilizing the dunes, which form a natural protective barrier against the forces of wind and wave.  In addition the dunes themselves provide an essential habitat and food source for coastal birds.
