What to Expect

The Andrew London Trio offers songs about the trivia and minutiae of daily life from the point of view of a middle-aged, middle-class, Middle Earther, delivered in a deceptively innocuous 1940s swing style with occasional forays into folk, blues, country and hip-hop.
Themes run the gamut from rugby fans, driving habits, youth culture and weddings to male insecurities, technophobia, household appliances, pretentious socialites, and various other issues of concern to the average middle-aged, middle-class Antipodean baby-boomer.

About The Andrew London Trio
Andrew is primarily a songwriter and satirist based on the Kapiti Coast. His songs explore social and political themes and although humour is very much to the fore, poignancy and pathos are never far behind, (just like real life).
Joined by woodwind exponent and songwriter Nils Olsen contributes to the trio with swing-era influenced saxophone and clarinet, and more introspective original songs that provide a contrast to London's characteristic levity . The bass chair is occupied by Kirsten London, who also contributes occasional standards lifted from the Doris Day and Blossom Dearie songbook.
Over 20 years of touring has enabled songwriter London to gather material from the shearing sheds of Southland to the boardrooms of Auckland, leaving him free to pronounce on pretentious socialites, modern parenthood, male insecurities, the Internet, and much much more.
