Artists in The Making is a programme operated by the Coromandel Independent Living Trust. Anne Bowden has been running this project in Whitianga for over twelve years.
Participants use art and craft to help uncover their creative and artistic skills, meeting every Wednesday and Friday.
We mainly work in mosaic, china painting, drawing and painting. We introduce new crafts that people are interested in trying. The main purpose is to have fun, provide support and break down isolation.
Through increased confidence and support, a number of people who have attended this programme gain employment.
