Join us in our unique country cafe setting

Colenso is one of the Coromandel Peninsula’s best known establishments – perfect for a catch up with friends and family or for a delicious breakfast, morning tea or lunch-time stop during your Coromandel journey. With its shop, garden and mandarin orchard, Colenso has long been a favourite of locals and holiday visitors.

We focus on fresh seasonal produce & great service

Our team has a passion for fresh seasonal produce, using what we can from our own orchard & gardens to delight your senses & taste buds. We pride ourselves on our great coffee & food selection, and providing you a warm, welcoming environment. Cakes, tarts and quiches are freshly baked and changing menu boards offer light lunches, platters, soups and seasonal healthy salads. Many of the old favourites remain and have been given new life with the new chef's little touches. Sourdough is housemade, and garnishes come from the cafe’s own gardens. Housemade bread and seasonal fruits & flowers are regularly available for purchase.

Colenso Cafe coffee and beverages

Colenso is licensed and serves Atomic coffee and a variety of teas. In season we offer our own freshly squeezed mandarin juice. Stop in for morning or afternoon tea or linger a little longer over lunch and a glass of wine.

  • Atomic coffee
  • Selection of t-leaf teas and infusions
  • Belgian hot chocolates
  • Wine and beer
  • A selection of smoothies and frappes
  • Freshly squeezed juice (when in season).
