The organisers of the festival are excited to announce the date for the next Whitianga Scallop Festival is Saturday 18th September 2021. The Festival will involve all of the great seafood, live music and entertainment that has made this event one of New Zealand’s best loved food and wine festivals.

Both organisers and regular festival goers were understanding, albeit disappointed, not to have a festival in 2020 given the risks of Covid-19. It has increased the anticipation and excitement for 2021 where the line-up of food, beverages, celebrity chefs, bands and more, will deliver an exceptional event.
We have no doubt this event will continue to be a sell out and are thrilled to have it back on the Whitianga events calendar.

The Whitianga Scallop Festival delivers a jam packed day centred around music, food, wine and entertainment, as well as the opportunity for the local community to benefit. The festival will be held beside the Whitianga Marina.
Brought to you by Whitianga Scallop Festival Inc, this event is an opportunity for community groups such as Mercury Bay Area School, Scouts and the Lions Club to raise generous funds for their organisations.
