In May 2015 the applicants Ross Mear & George Kerr, withdrew the application to develop the land behind the New Chum Beach catchment. This is positive news for the preservation of New Chum and we are hopeful a resolution with Govt, DoC, TCDC, WRC, PNC4E & the Developers will eventuate with an outcome that ultimately preserves this last bastion of undeveloped wilderness beach on the Coromandel Peninsula.
