The Mercury Bay Amateur Swimming Club runs a swimming programme and lessons for all skills and ages of children from 5 years to adult. The club operates from the community pool during the summer months.

Mercury Bay Netball Centre in Whitianga caters for school aged players through to adults and is part of Netball New Zealand's Waikato Bay of Plenty zone.

The Mercury Bay Cricket Club includes teams from the north eastern region of the Coromandel Peninsula. This area includes Whangapoua, Kuaotunu, Matarangi, Whitianga, Cooks Beach, Hahei, Hot Water Beach and Whenuakite.

The Mercury Bay Boating Club hosts social and racing events for adults and junior sailors throughout the year.  We welcome visiting sailors from around the country and encourage local sailors to become members.

The Mercury Bay Bowling Club has two full size 38.1 metre square bowls rinks, one star weed lawn green and one astro grass for all year round use. Visitors are most welcome and we  have clubrooms for hire.

Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club is the place for locals and visitors who enjoy the thrill and passion of catching (and trying to catch!) the big one in the spectacular waters in and around Whitianga and Mercury Bay. Come and enjoy this club - individual, senior and family memberships are available. Whether you participate in the many tournaments througout the year or just enjoy telling some great fish tales at the club you are welcome.

Mercury Bay Multi Sport Park is an exciting new sport and event facility. It has been created as a 'hub' for a variety of sport and recreation users within the Thames Coromandel area. The Mercury Bay Multi Sport Park currently has the interest of five local clubs: Mercury Bay Netball, Mercury Bay Rugby, Mercury Bay Football and Mercury Bay League.
